As competition in the smartphone market reaches a new level, significant information has surfaced about Honor’s new compact model, expected to be called “Mini.” According to the latest details leaked to the tech world, the company is preparing to launch its new device under the name Honor Magic 8 Air.
Honor Magic 8 Air Appears
Expected to be introduced in late January, this phone is a new addition to the portfolio, representing the brand’s slim and powerful design philosophy. The device’s design bears a strong resemblance to other members of the series, the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro. However, in terms of hardware and physical dimensions, this model appears to have sharp features that set it apart from its competitors.
The new model features a 6.31-inch LTPS panel. In terms of performance, it uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor instead of Qualcomm. This processor offers power that will directly compete with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
When examining its photo and video capabilities, the device features a 200-megapixel 1/1.5-inch main camera on the back. This is accompanied by a 50-megapixel telephoto lens. The most striking aspect of the device is its body design, which lives up to the “Air” suffix in its name. Leaked information indicates that the phone is remarkably thin, measuring only between 5 and 6 millimeters in thickness.
Despite this slim body, users will find a 5,500 mAh battery. The phone, notable for its energy efficiency and capacity balance, is also available in four color options: white, black, purple, and orange.
The full technical details and official sales price of the device will be revealed at the launch event planned for the end of January. Honor is responding to manufacturers like Oppo and Vivo with this model, which targets premium phones with small screens. The device’s physical thinness and high-resolution camera setup set a new standard in the compact phone segment.
